Laptop host
A laptop can run the full game server for the local network. Others then open its address and play the Online mode, with no codes to scan. See "Host on a laptop" in the README on GitHub.
How to play
Take turns to place a mark. Get four in a straight line to win.
Lines can run along a layer, up through the layers, or diagonally through the cube. There are 76 lines.
Point at a cell to light up the cells above and below it.
Every cell has its own sound, so you can follow a game by ear. The pitch is the layer: higher layers sound higher. The instrument is the row: 1 a wooden marimba, 2 a glass bell, 3 a plucked string, 4 a soft whistle. The width is the column: 1 is one thin voice, then a fifth joins, then an octave, and 4 has both. On headphones the column also comes from the left (1) to the right (4). O sounds one octave below X. The speaker button by the keypad plays the last move again, or the cell you typed. Train your ear.
Time limits work like a chess clock. Set a limit for each player's whole game, a limit per move, or both. A player who runs out of either limit loses. The first move of each player is untimed. A change during a game starts with the next game.
Lock settings keeps every setting, the view included, until the game ends. Online, the lock and the hide options apply to both players.
